Susan Hancock and Elizabeth Hancock Berg
Très Chic (Very Chic) started out as a play on words when it was founded by Trois Chicks (Three Chicks). One of those chicks was Susan Hancock, a 4th generation Houstonian!
Susan is a woman of many talents! Before her retail career, she was an executive director for a Houston nonprofit company and has done volunteer work all her life. She translates this into her boutique by consistently hosting events where a percentage of sales are given to nonprofits. Susan is also an avid singer and a lover of dramatics. She has a whole closet devoted to costumes that she uses to entertain her customers on the weekly Instagram segment “Wear it Wednesday”.
Throughout the over 17 years of business, Très Chic has gone through many exciting changes and Susan has continued to be as passionate as day one! For a few years Susan’s daughter, Elizabeth Hancock Berg, worked side by side with her mother as her right-hand woman! With all the experience she received working under Susan’s wing, Elizabeth now runs her own boutique, “Oak + Sparrow”. Another exciting change is the recent facelift the in-person and online store have had! Both store updates have enhanced the fun and friendly shopping experience that the boutique exudes. This includes a full-service customer service experience and honest styling advice. You will never have to hold anything as a fitting room will immediately be started for you. Not to mention Susan will always tell you the truth when you ask “Do I need this?” or “Does this fit right?” and never push you to buy anything.
Très Chic has been featured on many news broadcasts and articles from ABC13 to Houstonia Magazine. Check these out with the links on the home page or visit us in-store to the wall of framed newspaper articles!
Overall Très Chic encapsulates who Susan Hancock is, from the personality of the store to the specially curated women’s merchandise and accessories!
